Tulp Festival

The 11th edition of the annual Tulip Festival will pay tribute to Amsterdam 750 in April 2025. They will be in public spaces along streets, on bridges and squares, in flower beds and parks, shopping centres and (neighbourhood) gardens. In April, Tulip Festival will make the city bloom and this photogenic harbinger of spring can be beautifully immortalised.

Canal Parade

The world-famous Canal Parade on the canals of Amsterdam is one of the most memorable highlights of Pride. Spectators can watch about 80 boats representing everything from small LGBTQI+foundations to pink organisations within national multinational networks. They all cruise the city canals in elaborately decorated boats and dinghies to celebrate the past, present and future of the LGBTI community - and to show that it doesn't matter who or what you are.

Kwaku Summer Festival

The Kwaku Summer Festival is a grand celebration of cultural diversity and identity in the Southeast, with culture, sports and food as the most important forms of expression and where broad (social) participation and the Surinamese origin are the most important pillars. The Nelson Mandelapark in Amsterdam Zuidoost is dedicated to culture, music, dance, food and drinks for 4 weekends every summer during the Kwaku Summer Festival. In 2025, the Grachtenfestival will return to Amsterdam for the 28th edition. At the Grachtenfestival everything starts with music. Young musicians from all over the world surprise you with their own musical stories. With more than 95 locations, the Grachtenfestival will again be present this year in all parts of Amsterdam, with many free neighborhood concerts, but also at unique locations such as the Royal Palace on Dam Square, the ARTIS Planetarium and Fabrique des Lumières. This ensures that the Canal Festival always continues to innovate and allows visitors to (re)discover the city.

In the summer of 2025, the Parade, the traveling theater festival with its colorful tents, terraces and restaurants, will return to the Martin Luther Kingpark and will set up its tents again in the 4 largest cities in the Netherlands: Eindhoven, The Hague, Utrecht and Amsterdam. Please note: the dates and times for 2025 are an indication.

SAIL Amsterdam

SAIL Amsterdam occurs once every five years and is one of the city's largest events. The tenth edition is set to commence in August 2025. A massive fleet of large ships and various other special vessels sail across the IJ and dock near the city center. Sail 2025 coincides with two other significant anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of Sail (which was first organized in 1975) and the 750th anniversary of the city of Amsterdam. It's a triple celebration.

Every spring the Rolling Kitchens return to Amsterdam's Westerpark A mobile food festival for gourmets. This year, the site in the Westerpark will again be transformed into the largest open-air restaurant in Europe. More than 110 hand-selected Rolling Kitchens are getting back on track.

Amsterdam Light Festival returns from November 28, 2024 to January 19, 2025 with a new edition and theme: Rituals. With 27 artworks in beautiful, photogenic places, the festival connects and enriches residents and visitors in anniversary year Amsterdam750.

Amsterdam Roots Festival

In 2025 Amsterdam Roots Festival returns to Oosterpark with a sparkling program full of music, circus, dance, theatre, children's activities and workshops. The lineup features an impressive mix of artists from around the world, including Ghana's Florence Adooni and South Korea's Ak Dan Gwang Chil. This year's theme is 'Blind Spots', with which the festival wants to contribute to a more inclusive and connected society. Please note: Listed dates and times for 2025 are subject to change.

Junior Grachtenfestival

The Junior Grachtenfestival will return for it's 28th edition in 2025. You are never too young to get in touch with good music. The Grachtenfestival Junior is the perfect opportunity for this, because there is once again a packed program for the youngest visitors. Almost every day there is a concert, performance or other performance on the program. This way there is plenty of opportunity to immerse the children in music.
