Fastned becomes B Corp Certified, accelerating e-mobility goals
B Corp certification proving Fastned’s commitment to e-mobility transition
Amsterdam’s Fastned has achieved B Corp certification, reaffirming the fast-charging company's role as a key player in sustainable mobility. Awarded by B Lab, this certification is given to businesses that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
The certification process is stringent, requiring applicants to achieve a minimum score of 80 on the B Impact Assessment. It also involves a detailed review of a company’s operations across five areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
Fastned scored particularly high in the Environment category, thanks to its commitment to reducing fossil fuel dependency by promoting clean energy use. Fastned customers have driven millions of kilometres on renewable energy, avoiding an average of 24 kg of CO₂ per charging session—equivalent to nearly 8 litres of petrol.
Driving positive change in Amsterdam and beyond
Amsterdam is emerging as a key hub for sustainable mobility, with a strong focus on reducing emissions and creating cleaner transport solutions. Fastned’s mission to make electric driving more accessible aligns with the city’s goals, while innovations like Roboat explore urban water transport infrastructure.
Fastned's B Corp certification marks a significant step in Europe’s transition to a carbon-free future. With Amsterdam ranked No. 2 in the Urban Mobility Readiness Index and Noord Holland investing €11M in smart mobility, altogether, the city remains at the forefront of sustainable urban development and is committed to keeping it liveable and accessible.
