Clean Motion launches solar-powered EV pilot program in Amsterdam
On the road to smarter healthcare logistics
Sweden’s Clean Motion, driven by a mission to create sustainable urban transport solutions, is set to launch a pilot program for its solar-powered electric vehicle, EVIG, in Amsterdam this October. The pilot aims to assess the performance of the EVIG in delivering sensitive medical products across the city.
The pilot program will test the vehicle’s capabilities in delivering pharmaceutical products such as medicines and equipment to hospitals and pharmacies across the city. This marks a significant step toward smarter healthcare logistics, which in turn will revolutionise pharmaceutical and medical equipment deliveries. Addressing both sustainability and healthcare logistics challenges.
Smart mobility in Amsterdam
Amsterdam was chosen for its strong focus on sustainability and environmental adaptation. It is a city recognised for addressing urban challenges while promoting climate-conscious innovation. Ranked No. 2 in the Urban Mobility Readiness Index, with Noord Holland investing €11M in smart mobility, the city is a leader in sustainable urban development, prioritising livability and accessibility.
Clean Motion’s mission supports Amsterdam’s climate goals by providing locally built, energy-efficient vehicles to drive global EV adoption. With the city backing smart mobility ventures like Roboat, focused on improving waterway mobility, and Fastned, the fast-charging EV network and now a B Corp, Amsterdam plays a crucial role in Europe’s journey toward a carbon-free future.
