YellowStraps

Founded in Brussels by brothers Yvan and Alban Murenzi, YellowStraps has been shaping hybrid neo-soul for almost ten years. The two effortlessly combine warm, electronic beats with the essence of soulful hip-hop and jazzy sounds. Electric guitar loops, vocals and piano floating through UKG, 2Step and neo-soul-infused drums: YellowStraps makes music that pushes the boundaries of genres. Yvan has chosen to continue the project solo, but he still manages to maintain the unmistakable original style of YellowStraps.

Vox Animae Soloists - Mozart's Flute Quartets

Mozart composed several flute quartets of enormous beauty. Star flautist Jacques Zoon brings with him Vox Animae Soloists, an international top ensemble, to the Concertgebouw Amsterdam to make this music sound beautiful.

Tim Mead and Francesca Aspromonte - Pergolesi’s Stabat mater

With Tim Mead and Francesca Aspromonte, you have two absolute master singers of the baroque repertoire in-house. The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra accompanies them in the famous and beloved Stabat mater by Pergolesi in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Accompanied by beautiful music from Wassenaer and Stravinsky, with a subtle appearance by Pergolesi.

Piano Nights with Daria van den Bercken and Michiel Borstlap

In Piano Nights, the piano takes centre stage, featuring some of the most beautiful piano music of all time. Two pianists, each with a distinct repertoire, will be performing. Daria van den Bercken, one of the Netherlands' top concert pianists, is known for her versatility. In this concert at Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, she will perform famous works by Chopin, one of her favourite composers. Michiel Borstlap, always searching for the balance between what he calls 'head, heart, and gut,' returns to the roots of music, focusing on chords, melody, and rhythm.

Music Bowl: Luwten, Kika Sprangers & Concertgebouworkest

In this new edition of Music Bowl, indie pop artist LUWTEN, saxophonist Kika Sprangers and musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will come together on stage in the Small Hall. They will play their own music and merge musical genres in surprising musical encounters.

After the success of Valentine Classics at the Movies and Christmas Classics at the Movies, it is now time for Scary Classics at the Movies in Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam with music that makes your hair stand on end. A goosebump-inducing program in the Halloween month with music from well-known horror and creepy movies played by a large orchestra.

Harriet Krijgh & Friends - Bach, Arenski en Dohnányi

Dutch cellist Harriet Krijgh likes to gather friends around her to make music. This concert is a chamber music party in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. It opens with Bach's grandiose 'Third Suite' for cello solo. Works by Arenski and Dohnányi are also on the program.

Karina Canellakis conducts the Concertgebouw Orchestra: Wagner & Sibelius

Conductor Karina Canellakis makes her debut with the Concertgebouw Orchestra. The music of Wagner and Scriabin glows with desire and ecstasy. The Italian-German-American Grammy-winning classical violinist Augustin Hadelich is the soloist in Sibelius' Violin Concerto.

Composer in Residence: Caroline Shaw & Kamus Quartet

American Caroline Shaw is a composer who is residing at Het Concertgebouw this season. With the Kamus Quartet, she explores the musical worlds of Des Prez, Scarlatti, and Beethoven and her own work. 'Whether I work with a string quartet, a choir or even an orchestra, I strive for the feeling that you are a band together, in which everyone is equally important', says Shaw.

Rising Stars: Benjamin Kruithof

In the Rising Stars series, the stars of the future present themselves in Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam with distinctive programs. Cellist Benjamin Kruithof focuses on the renowned composer and pedagogue Nadia Boulanger in a program with various colours and styles.

Will Liverman and Daan Boertien - Burleigh, Vaughan Williams and Still

American baritone Will Liverman is an all-rounder, and Dutch pianist Daan Boertien is a singer on the grand piano. English-language songs are central to this recital in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, with works by Burleigh, Vaughan Williams and Still, among others. Art songs from other masters, including Poulenc and Richard Strauss complement them.
