Counting plants and animals

In honour of 750 years of Amsterdam, De Groene Stelling and Waarneming.nl are organising a large count of plants and animals: a BioBlitz. During this action, Amsterdammers help count species at 3 locations on the edge or just outside the city: Boerderij Boeren van Amstel, Diemerbos and Amstelpark.

You can join

Everyone can participate. You enter your observations by counting plants, birds, insects, or other animals. In this way, you collect valuable information about nature around the city together with others.

The BioBlitz shows how rich the countryside around Amsterdam is – and how important it is to protect that greenery.

Practical information:

• Thursday 12 June and Saturday 21 June, 10:00 – 11:00
• Friday 13 to Friday 20 June: participate independently, all day
• 3 locations: Boerderij Boeren van Amstel, Diemerbos and Amstelpark
