Pop-Up Expo Wichert van Engelen

In the context of 24 hours Oost, visual artist Wichert van Engelen exhibits his latest works of bronze and glass.

Wichert is a craftsman. The story behind each work is told by his hands. The production process is an inseparable part of the final result: bronzes with ultimate detailing and works with the unique combination of bronze and glass.

A special workshop

For over 10 years, Wichert has been working in the Openbare WerkPlaats, a special space where he is constantly surrounded by professionals, craftsmen and beginners, each working on their own project. The Openbare WerkPlaats offers them the space to realize their work with professional resources. In addition, the workshop is the location for craft courses: from welding to furniture upholstery, from stained glass to furniture making.

During the open day in the context of 24 hours Oost, you can take a look behind the scenes of this unique breeding ground for crafts with sustainability, recycling and repair in daily practice.
