Barbican Quartet
The Barbican Quartet, named after the fortification wall surrounding a town or castle, symbolizes the quartet's commitment to discovering, developing, and continuing the tradition of string quartet playing. At the same time, the Barbican Hall in London plays a vital role for the quartet as the place where they gave their first concert in 2015. They will give the Grachtenfestival concert in the Doopsgezinde Singelkerk.

Started playing together during their studies
The members met at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where they started making music together while studying. This year they will record their debut CD and give concerts in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Canada and the US. They combine well-known work - Maurice Ravel's famous string quartet - with Benjamin Britten's rarely played first string quartet. In other words, a unique concert to experience!
