Blue Giant + Music Jam

The first cinema screening of Blue Giant in the Netherlands will take place on 16 March. After this jazz-anime film, an improvised music jam will take place led by Sem van der Peet. Cowards

Blue giants, the hottest and brightest stars in the universe, are visible even thousands of light years away due to their bright light. That's what Dai Miyamoto wants to become the day he discovers jazz. He leaves his boring hometown for the vibrant nightclubs of Tokyo but soon discovers that the life of a professional musician is not for cowards. What does it take to be truly great?

Jazz anime movie

This jazz anime film, directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa, is based on the manga by Shinichi Ishizuka. Because you obviously can't hear the music in the manga, Yuzuru enlisted the help of Japanese jazz composer Hiromi. Even in the music, you can hear the development of the ever-improving band JASS. The film finished in the top five at IFFR.

On March 16, this musical and compelling film will be previewed at Kriterion, which will feature live music and Japanese whiskey.
