Crossing Borders: Ketevan Roinishvili, Kian Soltani, Nicolas Altstaedt + Amsterdam Sinfonietta
Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey are at odds with each other, but the music from these countries fits together wonderfully. The Azerbaijani Frangiz Ali-Zadeh is composing a new cello concerto for Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Ivan Monighetti*, who has premiered several of her compositions.

Passionate musicians
Nicolas Altstaedt plays the cello concerto composed for him by the Turkish pianist and composer Fazıl Say. Florian Magnus Maier makes a new arrangement of his own 'Gossamer Road' for the Georgian cellist Ketevan Roinishvili and strings. The piece is largely based on Georgian music.
*Unfortunately, Monighetti himself will not be able to perform due to unforseen circumstances, but his former star pupil Kian Soltani will gladly perform the premiere. He has already performed several pieces by Ali-Zadeh, including the famous Habil-Sayagy during his debut at the Biennale.
This concert will be broadcast live by the NTR on NPO Klassiek .
