Ensemble Klang + New European Ensemble - Inspired by Bruckner Nulth + Fourth
Rick van Veldhuizen has a brilliant renovation in mind with Bruckner's Nulth Symphony. The first theme, which, according to others, was not recognizable enough, made Bruckner declare the symphony invalid. It is precisely this theme that plays a vital role for Van Veldhuizen. In Spiri II: Sheltered Ritual, Seung-Wong Oh actually 'brucknerianizes' her own language. Ensemble Klang and the New European Ensemble turn these hybrid worlds into structures in which Bruckner walks like an indispensable shadow.

Bruckner's indispensable shadow for Van Veldhuizen and Seung-Won Oh
The young Dutch composer Rick van Veldhuizen already has quite a CV. In 2019, for example, he wrote mais le corps taché d'ombres for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Dream music is one in which romanticism and modern sound coincide seamlessly. Years ago, Seung-Won Oh, originally from South Korea, was called a 'name to remember' by Volkskrant. How she 'plays with layered structures and transparency' is also impressive in combination with a pinch of Bruckner.
