Special village festival

The stage is filled with none other than singer Sterre Konijn, percussionist Kalina Vladovska and ensemble Ikarai, consisting of pianist Julian Schneemann, drummer Jeroen Batterink, violinist Tessel Hersbach, violist Yanna Pelser and cellist Bence Huszar. With FEST they present a special village festival during the Grachtenfestival, with a unique mix of the most beautiful folk music from cultures with rich musical traditions.

Pent-up tensions, unrequited love and various social interactions are given space at such a party. The most beautiful melodies from Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia and Cyprus, among others, are featured. The concert also starts with a new composition by Camiel Jansen, bassist of Ikarai and previous composer of MARS and Small World, both of which premiered at the Grachtenfestival.
