After Leonard Cohen's death in 2016, Flip Noorman appeared in Paradiso with a tribute to his greatest source of inspiration. What was supposed to be a one-off performance was so well received that he started performing it more often and released it on CD.
Long live Flip Cohen
He sings Cohen's biggest hits, from Suzanne to Dance Me To The End Of Love, in English, in addition to several songs by the great Canadian singer-songwriter translated into Dutch. And according to the Theaterkrant, Noorman is 'a cocktail of 1/5 Leonard Cohen, 3/5 Tom Waits and 1/5 Che Guevara'. De Volkskrant wrote: 'Flip Noorman makes Leonard Cohen's songs sparkle'—a moving evening with the music of a legendary singer/writer.
