Monday, 1 July is Keti Koti: a special day on which we commemorate and celebrate the abolition of slavery. The Keti Koti Gala Concert in the evening is the festive conclusion. With an all-star line-up of artists with roots in Suriname, we look back to our shared colonial past, but we also look to the future through soul, jazz, pop and reggae. There is music by artists such as Jeangu Macrooy, Denise Jannah, 4 The Culture and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. The presentation of this musical evening is in the hands of Jörgen Raymann.
