About Liszt

Liszt, one of the most famous Romantics from Hungary, played the piano excellently and composed renowned pieces such as the Hungarian Rhapsody. He is considered one of the greatest piano virtuosos of all time. He was also a successful and prominent piano teacher, a great music reformer and innovator. In 1847, Liszt decided to end his concert career. He remained modestly active as a composer and conductor until 1870. During the end of his life, he composed more religious works in which the Via Crucis would play an extremely important role.
