Beethoven, Ravel and Haydn
The Marmen Quartet combines Ravel's only string quartet with Beethoven's Eighth . Ravel dedicated his melodious quartet to his old teacher Fauré and was admired by his colleague Debussy. Beethoven, who incorporated his deepest compositional thoughts into his string quartets, was seen as a great example by almost all later string quartet composers. Beethovens himself saw Haydn as his great example, whose sixth quartet from opus 33 is heard.
Marble Quartet
Since its founding in 2013, the Marmen Quartet from London has rapidly developed into one of the most successful quartets of the moment.
