Mike del Ferro and Femke Smit have known each other for a long time, but during a meeting in Rio de Janeiro in April 2023, a special musical connection was born. Their shared passion for Brazilian music, combined with a classical background (both have an opera singer as a father) and a foundation in jazz and improvisation, formed the ideal basis for an inspiring collaboration.

New Year's concert with a Brazilian touch

Together, Mike and Femke perform unknown gems by famous Brazilian composers such as Jobim, Chico Buarque and Milton Nascimento. These hidden gems, the "lado B" (B-side) of their oeuvre, contain some of the most beautiful musical treasures. Mike's lyrical piano playing and Femke's captivating interpretations know how to completely enchant the audience - even without knowledge of the Portuguese language you are touched by the emotions and stories in their music.

Their album “Lado B” will be available to stream on all digital platforms from January 2025.
