Rencontres - Xenakis on wire!
A challenging, exciting combination of instruments, where the harpsichord in particular emphasizes its percussive qualities, while its distinct lyrical and musical possibilities are highlighted as a contrast on the percussion. Koleva and Isphording not only want to bring Xenakis' work back into the spotlight, but also approach it differently. The music reminded them of popular movements such as trance and techno. They invited Ruben Kieftenbelt to create a new perspective and experience by means of live electronics.
Rencontres - Xenakis on wire!
A tribute to the composer Iannis Xenakis
The compositions of Iannis Xenakis form the basis of this program. The title refers not only to the French origin of these works, but also to the encounter of different cultures, nationalities and generations of performers, composers and their pieces. Arnold Marinissen provides musical commentary on this program with a new composition. Koleva and Isphording complete the program with two of their own compositions. De Volkskrant previously rated this concert with four stars and noted: Xenakis did not write the easiest music, but what an otherworldly listening experience this performance delivers.” With thanks to FPK, Het Cultuurfonds and AFK
Line up:
