How did tavern music sound in the 17th and 18th centuries? While we know a lot about the music played at royal courts, what did the ��ordinary people’ listen to? Antoinette Lohmann and Ro Krauss have explored this and have recreated forgotten instruments from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. They present a festive program that demonstrates that folk music from Western Europe is at least as catchy, lively, and danceable as that from the Balkans.
