Netherlands / Korea: Dance and music improvisation
The 2024 Netherlands-Korea International Collaborative Improvisation Performance marks the second international collaboration project, after the 2022 event in Korea, involving Dutch improvisational dancers and musicians. In 2022, Dutch improvisational dancers and musicians collaborated during the 22nd Seoul International Improvisation Dance Festival (Simpro) and the 7th Jeju International Improvisation Dance Festival (Jimpro), both organised by the International Performing Arts Project (IPAP). This collaboration also included the Korean National Modern Dance Group and the Dutch group Collectief Imprography as partner organisations.

Great dancers from Korea meet the Amsterdam scene
For the 2024 performance, 4 Korean improvisational dancers, who participated in the 2022 event, will once again collaborate with Dutch improvisational dancers and musicians. This intercultural dialogue transcends traditional boundaries, embraces a rich diversity of voices, and effortlessly combines and challenges artistic contrasts. Join us on this evolving journey as we celebrate the present of improvisational arts in both countries and explore new possibilities for future artistic exchanges.
