On June 7, Dutch trumpeter, composer and bandleader Maite Hontelé will open the thirteenth edition, accompanied by Cuban jazz great Ramón Valle . On July 19, the feet will take off for the Twitching Eye Trio , which combines contemporary and electronic music with rhythms and sounds from African, Indian and Afro-Cuban traditions. On August 16 you can be carried away by the music of Reijseger/Fraanje/Sylla , a perfect mix of jazz, African songs and classical music. The series concludes on September 13 with Emine Bostancı and her quartet, together with Syrian singer Nawras Altaky , on a hopefully balmy late summer evening.

Sunday afternoon family concerts

For the past two years, On The Roof has programmed family concerts on Sunday afternoons, where music can be enjoyed together with family, friends and neighbors, without compromising on quality.

Discover our Young Makers

In collaboration with the Van Bijlevelt Foundation, On the Roof offers four young talents guidance for sustainable development in the form of business mentor sessions, skill development and the production of video portraits with which they can present themselves to programmers, the press and their supporters.

About On The Roof

For over 10 years, On the Roof has been the home base for Amsterdam's colorful, diverse music scene and special guests from abroad every year between June and September. Artists you may know or want to discover explore the boundaries of jazz, worldly sounds and improvised music in authentic, intimate performances. What started as an idea born from passion has grown into the summer staple for discovering new music, listening to your favorite artists and enjoying the beautiful sunset together.
