OOM: Dorothee Mields & Stefan Temmingh

Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht presents: Dorothee Mields & Stefan Temmingh Father, Son, Godfather George Philipp Telemann passed his name on as godfather to Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, with whom he would maintain a lively correspondence and close relationship. The missing link? Father Johann Sebastian, who joins this buffet of cantata fragments and sonatas, served by soprano Dorothee Mields and recorder player Stefan Temmingh.

Dorothee Mields & Stefan Temmingh

She: one of the most praised voices in 17th and 18th century repertoire, equally loved in large orchestral and opera productions as in fine song recitals. Him: the visionary musician who made the recorder hip again. The German soprano Dorothee Mields and the South African virtuoso Stefan Temmingh have been a successful team for several years. From Italian baroque opera to Telemann cantatas to music whispered by sweet-sounding fauna (see the album Birds), the duo generously shares the most tempting repertoire highlights and most stunning finds.
