Winter Evenings on the Amstel: young talent concert
This year, the Waalse Kerk is part of the twelfth edition of the Winter Evenings on the Amstel festival! The festival is all about twists and turns. People are capable of great changes, driven by coercion, urge or curiosity. Perhaps that is why music history is full of wonderful twists and turns. What do you think of Arnold Schoenberg's break with tonality, Shostakovich's bow to Stalin's popular and cultural policy and the new instrument that Adolphe Sax designed in the first half of the 19th century? A non-musical twist is that for the first time the festival will no longer take place in H'ART Museum, but at various other locations in Amsterdam: Museum Het Schip and the Koningszaal of ARTIS Groote Museum, the Waalse Kerk and the Uilenburgersjoel.
