Pathétique Pynarello
Tchaikovsky's emotionally charged last symphony is subject to the mystery of his death a week after its premiere. Is this autobiographical music, did Tchaikovsky commit suicide, was his homosexuality the reason for this? Nobody knows. This mysterious history is the starting point for a journey of discovery through the Symfonie Pathétique, with the largest Pynarello ensemble to date. This performance can be seen and heard in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
Pathétique Pynarello
Tchaikovsky's Tragic Symphony
Actress Maartje van de Wetering recites a text by all-rounder Thomas Beijer, who wrote an idiosyncratic reflection on the many questions surrounding the last years of Tchaikovsky's life. Julian Schneemann is composing a new work especially for Pynarello, entitled The Moving Staircase . This rebel club, a next generation with the greatest talents of the moment, plays without a conductor and almost everything by heart.
