Please note: this concert is sold out. Ana-Carmen Balestra is one of those stage personalities who grabs the attention and doesn't let it go. The Dutch-Argentine soprano will pay tribute to life tonight, together with master accompanist Daan Boertien at the piano. Their enchanting musical journey spans the entire emotional spectrum and offers a kaleidoscope of songs from different genres and eras. There is music by the king of German Lied, Franz Schubert, but also by tango king Astor Piazzolla.

Rising star brings kaleidoscope of song art
Ana-Carmen Balestra's star is rising quickly. Last April, for example, she gave a solo recital at the Wigmore Hall in London, the mecca of song culture. From next season she will be associated with the prestigious National Opera Studio in London as a Young Artist. As a pianist, Daan Boertien has fully devoted himself to accompanying singers – a profession in his own right, in which he excels. The evening ends with the iconic battle song Gracias a la vida by the Argentinian diva Mercedes Sosa, arranged by Ana-Carmen herself.
