Yukine Kuroki

The young Japanese pianist Yukine Kuroki is praised for her technical mastery and elegant playing, it is interesting to know that calligraphy is among her hobbies. Kuroki won prizes at various competitions. In 2022 she won Liszt Utrecht, the triennial piano competition focusing on the music of Franz Liszt. Today this composer takes a prominent role in Kuroki's program.

Liszt's Deuxi��me année de pèlerinage offers a sample of his composing: from intimate simplicity to extreme brilliance, all styles are represented. The pieces, which he wrote from the age of twenty-seven to the age of forty, are devoted to Italian artistic expressions that Liszt came to know on his travels. Liszt made a large number of transcriptions of existing compositions, a tradition represented in this program with works by Busoni, Rachmaninoff and Liszt himself.
