Queyras in Dvořák

In the hands of top cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, Dvořák's equally compelling and famous Cello Concerto sounds like never before. It is perhaps considered the most popular cello concerto ever and is in the repertoire of every self-respecting cellist. Queyras recorded the demanding work early in his career and has since performed it in critically acclaimed performances with the world's finest orchestras.

Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet

Tonight, the Residentie Orchestra, conducted by Kerem Hasan, will perform the ever-popular romantic poem about the famous love couple Romeo and Juliet. Tchaikovsky does not follow Shakespeare's story literally. Still, he does conjure up a moving love story, from the passionate love scenes and the arguments between the two rival families to the inevitable tragic ending.
