Saya Gray
Japanese-Canadian artist Saya Gray has a unique gift for creating a collage of sounds that feels both comforting and disorienting, expansive yet intimate. Her music is an experimental blend of alternative R&B, lo-fi, jazz, indie and electronica, characterized by layered productions and intimate lyrics. She combines soft vocals with unpredictable rhythmic structures and soundscapes, giving her songs an almost collage-like quality.
1000 personalities in one song
Her previous releases, '19MASTERS' (2022), 'QWERTY I' (2023) and 'QWERTY II' (2024), were created during periods of intense isolation. As Saya herself puts it, she packs '1000 personalities into one song'. It's this unfiltered, frenetic approach to her art that she finds necessary to reclaim her sense of self in an ever-changing world – and which simultaneously makes her one of the most exciting emerging musicians working today.
2025 promises to be an important year for Saya, as she prepares the release of her debut album SAYA �� her most personal and intimate project to date, according to her.
