Sibling Rivalry

Featuring two brothers who have played music together their entire lives, Sibling Rivalry brings to the forefront the American and Irish folk traditions of their upbringing. With Matt Adomeit on mandolin and River Adomeit on bass (although always with the option to switch...) the duo seeks simplicity within the experimental, finding new ways to give a modern feel to their traditional melodies.

Matt and River are originally from Connecticut, USA and graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory and the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Although they have been working together for over 20 years (since River was 6 and Matt 12), this will be their first public performance as a duo.

This evening at Splendor, "Sibling Rivalry" also features the wonderful and always adventurous Oene van Geel on viola.

The evening promises to bring the push-and-pull of melodic lyricism and rousing violin playing.
