Homesickness expressed in Iranian songs and instrumental music

Ancient Persian poetry is an inexhaustible source for Iranian songs. Motamedi's specialty is to improvise graceful melodies to these verses.

The program is about being homesick for the origins. Song of the Reed is a poem of the same name by the 13th century mystic poet Rumi, describing the pain of those who are cut off from their home, like a reed cut loose from its reed bed.
