Le Consort & Adele Charvet
She loves the song but can also regularly be found on the opera stage: the French mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet has a silky voice that she can sing with bravado. In the Kleine Zaal she joins forces with the energetic ensemble Le Consort, the combination is now a proven one. The musicians of this baroque group from France are known for their fiery playing and dazzling virtuosity. On the programme: including arias from operas by Vivaldi.
Vivaldi
In early eighteenth-century Venice, opera was the most popular musical entertainment. It also turned out to be the most profitable for Vivaldi. In 1714, Vivaldi became impresario of the Teatro San Angelo in Venice, where numerous operas by his hand – around fifty have survived – were premiered. His progressive opera style caused him problems with conservative musicians such as Benedetto Marcello but brought him fame far beyond the national borders.
