The Tallest Man on Earth
The Amsterdam Sinfonietta New Year's tradition oversteps the boundaries of classical music. Every year, the string ensemble invites an artist from the pop world to go on a musical adventure with them. This year, it is Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson, better known as The Tallest Man on Earth.

Silent as a mouse
Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson, better known as The Tallest Man on Earth, is the next artist in the long New Year's tradition of Amsterdam Sinfonietta. The Tallest Man on Earth has the talent to silence a room just with his gravelly voice and a guitar.
He plays up to 10 string instruments in the evening, from acoustic guitar to banjo. Together with him, Amsterdam Sinfonietta presents a program with Swedish folklore, classical Scandinavian composers, a selection from the singer's growing repertoire of beautiful songs, and covers of Bob Dylan and Sting, among others. Special guest is the New York string quartet Brooklyn Rider, with their insatiable thirst for adventure. 'Frontman' Colin Jacobsen leads the Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
