Van Dik Hout
There are few bands that last more than a quarter of a century. The number of bands that still make music with the eagerness of a young dog after such a period can be counted on one hand. Van Dik Hout is such a rarity. Tonight we will remove the chairs from the Main Hall and it will be the stage for this legendary Dutch band. A band that cherishes the past - and big hits such as Silent in Me and All or Nothing - but at the same time continues to look ahead in search of new paths.

In the nineties, Dutch music was not very hip. But Van Dik Hout didn't care about that. Averse to trends, Van Dik Hout linked a modern rock sound to catchy Dutch lyrics. And with success! Hits such as Stil in mij and Alles or niet became anthems of a generation, the debut album became an unadulterated classic. With the albums and hits that followed, Van Dik Hout always manages to capture the spirit of the times. And live they are a permanent fixture in Dutch music life, from Pinkpop to Lowlands, from their own shows to the wedding of Willem-Alexander and Máxima. You can now say that the men of Van Dik Hout have been pioneers. Because Dutch-speaking is now the norm and young musicians - from hit duo Suzan & Freek to number 1 rapper Snelle - call Van Dik Hout's work a source of inspiration. Singer Martin Buitenhuis says: 'The realization that we have made an impact and have influenced generations after us is wonderful. It has revived us and gives us extra energy.'
We dance on the waves
With the hit One Night Eternity, Van Dik Hout scored their biggest radio hit in years in 2019. The title song of their latest album has immediately become a new classic in their already impressive oeuvre full of Dutch pop classics. 2021 was an eventful year for Van Dik Hout. A year in which they received the Golden Harp but also had to say goodbye to band member and drummer Oscar Kraal. Oscar's death is the inspiration for the most recent single We dance on the waves . A song about fate and life. Where people look back fondly, new paths are also taken. Because while Van Dik Hout is proud of its musical past, they continue to look ahead!
