Folk roots

He started making folk music under his own name at the beginning of this decade, but chose to pursue a career in pop under the name vaultboy (named after the character from the video game series Fallout). Yet you can still hear his folk roots in his recognizable sound, including in his melancholic, narrative lyrics. vaultboy made his international breakthrough in the summer of 2021 with his single 'everything sucks', which went viral on the internet, has now been listened to more than 200 million times on Spotify and earned him more than a million followers on TikTok.
