The duo consists of the Dutch singer and guitarist Robbert Suilen and the Belgian singer Esther Van Hees. The two met during their master's degree in jazz vocal studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2013. Soon a bond was formed through shared idols such as Dolly Parton, Don McLean and Rufus Wainwright.

When they happened to become neighbors in 2020 and started encouraging each other to write songs, the idea of making music together grew. In Robbert's home studio, a series of his own songs were created that highlight the different faces of love. Honest lyrics, warm vocals and vintage guitar sounds form the world of Where On Earth.
