'A true NXT GEN program', is what programmer Frank Veenstra calls this look at the contemporary music of today's ensemble. This quartet consists of piano duo Katia and Marièlle Labèque and guitarists Bryce Dessner and David Chalmin, Katia Labèque's partner. They found each other in 2018 with the aim of playing visionary new compositions and groundbreaking pieces from the past fifty years such as Electric Counterpoint by Steve Reich and Four Movements for Two Pianos by Philip Glass.

Radiohead

Just as Bryce Dessner is active as the guitarist of the alternative pop band The National, Thom Yorke is also an icon of the indie pop world. The lead singer of the British band Radiohead wrote a work for the concert hall for the first time with the three-part Don't Fear the Light . 'A daring triumph', was the verdict of the critics after the premiere about this mix of Radiohead harmony, minimalism and ambient music.
