Enchanting Japanese folk music
The simple magic of Japanese folk music is masterfully brought to the spotlight by Yurina Hamano during their first tour of the Netherlands. Singer Yurina Hamano was born on the island of Kyushu (Aso, Kumamoto), where she was raised with traditional Japanese folk music. With her sensitive, natural voice, Yurina Hamano connects Japanese folk with the warmth of French chansons and the depth of Portuguese fado.
In Tokyo, where Yurina Hamano studied classical guitar, she met fellow guitarist Hirosato Ito (Yatomi, Aichi). Hirosato Ito studied jazz guitar at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. His fluent guitar compositions form the connecting link between the nostalgic, delicate and yet powerful sound of Yurina Hamano.
The result is enchanting, disarming Japanese folk like you´ve never heard before.
