A City of Progress
Amsterdam has long been a city of progress, a place where identity, self-expression and queerness were embraced and celebrated. But what happens when we stop looking at the past, and we look towards the next 750 years? What will the people of our city look like when fluidity, transformation and radical self-expression shape humanity on a fundamental level?
As part of the 'Ketelhuis Next Door' programme of the LGBTQ+ filmfestival Roze Filmdagen, photographer and artist Henri Verhoef takes you on a journey to the Amsterdam of the future. A queer utopia. This exhibition was developed specifically for the festival, and it shows you portraits of futuristic, mutated queer aliens that Verhoef created in collaboration with artificial intelligence. Showing at Meterhuisje in the Westergas district, from 7 until 30 March.
