About the makers

Esma Alouet was born and raised in Genk and currently lives in Amsterdam. She graduated as a clinical psychologist from KU Leuven. She draws her inspiration from her Moroccan cultural background and her experience as a gz-psychologist in mental health care. Her photography is dynamic and creates a balance between portraits, fashion and stills.

Esra Sakir is a multidisciplinary artist with roots in Turkey and Italy. Her artistic journey began at the age of 11, when she studied with various professional artists. In 1996, she obtained her bachelor's degree from the Brera Academy in Milan, where she specialized in magical realism. Later, she taught at Yeditepe University in Istanbul, where she guided students in critical reinterpretations of art history.

Jonne Lucia is an analogue photographer and focuses on documentary stories and the theme 'Slow Dopamine' - observational photography that makes you quiet and look at a familiar environment with new eyes. She works from her studio in LYCKA and is active as an artist in the Nieuw-West district. With her photography and creative workshops she wants to inspire other makers to also realize their own creative goals and focus on passion.

Sarah Fernandez is a French artist and artistic researcher based in Amsterdam. Fascinated by the cognitive strangeness of digitally mediated existence, she works primarily with digital tools.

Sarah Jonker is a theatre maker and visual artist. In 2006 she graduated from the Arnhem Theatre School. During her career Sarah has gained praise both in theatre and with her drawings. Sarah Jonker's drawings are poetic, humorous and theatrical. Her dark, absurd universe is full of severed limbs and unpolished sexuality. In her spontaneous compositions made with Indian ink, chalk and watercolour there are surrealist and post-expressionist elements.

Yasemin Demirözcan is an emerging photographer whose artistic expression is driven by a deep understanding of human connection and social dynamics, stemming from her background in sociology and visual anthropology. Yasemin strongly believes in the power of photography to unite communities, evoke recognition, and foster deeper connection between people. Her work is intuitive and honest, aimed at exploring the complexities of the human experience and provoking meaningful conversations around identity, belonging, and the human condition.
