Neo Futurist Dinners are experimental dinners where Mediamatic invites chefs and artists from all over the world to develop a memorable experience that addresses both the sensory and tactile qualities of food. What role does food play in our current society? What stories can you tell with food? Through these dinners, we explore the way food, art, science and politics are intertwined.

Artist chefs

Inspired by their individual experiences with migration, artist-chefs Uno Fujisawa, Alaa Abu Asad and Aslı Hatipoğlu plants that have a similar history to themselves. During dinner, you will be guided through the Mediamatic building and the life cycle of the Japanese knotweed. From the roots to the flower and back. Knots, Weeds and Roots is a participatory dinner. Play, feel, peel and rub Knotweed on your skin and discover the healing properties of the plant. Each corridor represents a different stage in the Japanese knotweed life cycle and explores new relationships with other plant species. All this is in our unique greenhouse on the water in the centre of Amsterdam.
