From May 7 to 18, ZID Theater presents the ninth edition of the multidisciplinary and international ExploreZ Festival at various locations in Amsterdam. During ExploreZ you can enjoy a rich mix of theater, music, dance, workshops and more, with the theme: 'Change'.

The festival included this theme by creating a platform for open dialogue around current, urgent societal challenges. The flood of online and offline information about the consequences of climate change, social relations, and political unrest... How do we deal with this constanty changing environment? Through arts and culture, participants, makers and visitors of the festival are actively encouraged to reflect on their own position within this issue, in order to ultimately convert this into positive changes in their environment. Makers from different corners of the world, and the many Dutch upcoming talents, will show their work at the festival!

The ExploreZ Festival offers a stage to makers from different countries and traditions. There will be ten performances with makers from the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Belgium and Croatia. Personal visions and cultural elements are included in these performances with stories that usually do not get the chance to be heard. The premiere and performances of WATER - a ZID production - are one of the highlights! WATER is a versatile, multidisciplinary event with a performance, installation and interactive part about climate change. It highlights the power of water, from mythology to facts and predictions, and provides an answer to the challenges of climate change.
