Great Catch is precisely what the title implies: a great catch. We can no longer ignore the contemporary circus. A new generation of circus artists has emerged in the Netherlands who not only have fantastic skills but also create funny, moving and personal theatre performances. For the second edition of Great Catch – a fresh taste of circus, the Circus Coalition selected three original productions by fresh circus talent that will tour Dutch theatres together. You will be treated to work by Luuk Brantjes, Tête-bêche and Harvey Cobb. It is a surprising program full of circus adventure.

Luuk Brantjes has specialized in the possibilities of the teeterboard, which allows force to be converted into a state of weightlessness. In LONE, he takes stock between being alone or lonely. In a world where we are constantly connected, the fear of being alone seems to grow. LONE is a tribute to the singles, to the freebooters, to everyone's inventive self.

Tête-bêche (Marieke Thijssen, Charlie Wheeler and Wilko Sch��tz) combine the game of diabolo with partner acrobatics in 3+1 . They build a complex web of hypnotic choreographies, interspersed with spectacular moments in which not only the diabolo but also the acrobats fly through the air.

Harvey Cobb won the BNG Bank Circus Prize in 2022 with his idiosyncratic mix of comedy, improvisation and juggling. Harvey performs part of his hilarious solo Pink Boots and An Alcoholic Sock Puppet. It is a mix of crazy stand-up, heartfelt sincerity and an abundance of pink boots, which makes you wonder whether everything is going terribly wrong or exactly according to plan.
