Great Catch - Luuk Brantjes, Tête-bêche & Harvey Cobb

Great Catch is precisely what the title implies: a great catch. A new generation of circus artists has emerged in the Netherlands who not only have fantastic skills but also create funny, moving and personal theatre performances. For the second edition of Great Catch - Fresh taste of circus, the Circuscoalitie selected three original productions by fresh circus talent that will tour Dutch theatres together: Luuk Brantjes, Harvey Cobb and Tête-bêche. It is a surprising program full of adventurous circus performances. Catch it if you can at Bijlmer Park Theatre.

About Luuk Brantjes

Luuk Brantjes has specialized in the possibilities of the teeterboard, which allows force to be converted into a state of weightlessness. In LONE, he takes stock between being alone or lonely. In a world where we are constantly connected, the fear of being alone seems to grow. LONE is a tribute to the singles, to the freebooters, to everyone's inventive self.

About Tête-bêche

Acrobat trio Tête-bêche combines the game of diabolo with partner acrobatics in 3+1. Marieke Thijssen, Charlie Wheeler and Wilko Sch��tz build a complex web of hypnotic choreographies interspersed with spectacular moments in which not only the diabolo but also the acrobats fly through the air.

About Harvey Cobb

Harvey Cobb won the BNG Bank Circus Prize in 2022 with his idiosyncratic mix of comedy, improvisation and juggling. Harvey plays part of his hilarious solo Pink Boots and An Alcoholic Sock Puppet. It is a mix of crazy stand-up, heartfelt sincerity and an abundance of pink boots, which makes you wonder whether everything is going wrong or precisely according to plan.

About the Circus Coalition

Great Catch is an initiative of the Circus Coalition. The partners are Rotterdam Circusstad, TENT, Korzo, Festival Circolo, Buro Piket in collaboration with MAAS theatre and dance, Circusbende Festival, De Schuur, Bijlmerparktheater, Panama Pictures, Deventer op Stelten and the Codarts and Fontys courses. With this collaboration, they want to contribute to a good climate for the creation and presentation of circus in the Netherlands. The Circus Coalition is committed to encouraging talent, playgrounds and audiences for the circus.
