Magical world

Chalk Me starts outside the theatre. Playful chalk drawings take children and their parent(s)/guardian(s) playing, searching, hopping, skipping to the theatre hall. There they do not sit in a chair but on the stage! A duet unfolds before their eyes on a playing field of ever-changing chalk drawings. They see, hear and feel the dancers up close and discover that they themselves are in the middle of a drawn dance garden. They are allowed to further shape that dance garden themselves. Together they make memories; I chalk you and you chalk me!

The performance meets the audience with open arms and takes them dancing onto the floor, into the story. Children and adults discover the magical world of dance together by playfully trying, using each other's bodies and by searching for different solutions. The traditional roles of child and adult are abandoned. They surprise each other in their abilities and creativity. The visual possibilities of the chalk and the theatre floor are like a sketchbook for their search. Chalk Me offers adults and children sincere time for each other, allowing them to meet each other in a different way.

Dutch is spoken during this performance, but it's also a physically active play. Therefore, it is possible to participate if you don't speak Dutch.
