Two performers, four bodies. With a large mirror as a stage, Lily&Janick invite the audience on a journey into an apparently perfectly balanced world, which feels like a long look through a kaleidoscope. But what happens when everything is not as perfect as it seems. When you bring light into the darkness and something shifts? How do we deal with changes in our environment and how long can we hold on to something ephemeral?
About Kaleiding:
Kaleiding is the debut performance of the contemporary circus company Lily&Janick. Both are young artists from Berlin, now based in Rotterdam. Janick Kremer is a base, acrobat and aerial straps artist with a movement background in the Korean martial art Shinson Hapkido. A flyer, tightrope walker and slackrope balancer, Lily brings a distinct visual aesthetic to the company through her work as a photographer. Since 2016, Lily&Janick have been working together in a partner acrobatics duo. Together they graduated from the Codarts School of the Arts in Rotterdam (NL) with a Bachelor specialized in partner acrobatics and partner dance. Kaleiding is their first full-length performance in which they combine their passions for visual and performing arts. Kaleiding is a German-Dutch co-production, mainly supported by Zirkus ON (DE) and Circunstruction (NL), in addition to partners in Belgium and France.
