Born in 1986 in Denton, Texas and raised at the newspaper where his parents both worked, A. Savage rose to fame in 2012 as co-frontman of garage rock band Parquet Courts. After more than a decade in New York, Savage has left the city and the United States, his departure marked by his first solo work, 2017's Thawing Dawn. With this new sequel, the American, versatile artist manages to maintain intimacy and create a new side of himself to reveal. “Fire is something you have to escape from, and in a way this album is about escaping something. This album is a burning building, and these songs are things I would leave behind to save myself."
