Branford Marsalis belongs to 'the highest echelon of jazz tenor saxophonists' according to the Los Angeles Times. His great quartet has been together since 1986. With pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis and drummer Justin Faulkner in the ranks. Branford Marsalis Quartet
From a 'young jazz lion', Branford Marsalis has grown over the past four decades into a globally renowned and respected instrumentalist, composer, bandleader, Grammy winner and teacher. Saxophonist Marsalis moves in a wide range of styles, including classical music, but the common thread in his musical life remains his Branford Marsalis Quartet. The quartet has existed for more than three decades and the four musicians know how to find each other blindly in their interpretations, from subdued to explosive. In addition to his quartet, Marsalis has played with the top of international jazz during his career: Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and Herbie Hancock, to name a few. And of course with his brother, the great trumpeter and bandleader Wynton Marsalis.
