Bruckner 9 Camerata RCO
Bruckner's original notes, completed by Sébastien Letocart in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. It is inevitable that Camerata RCO remains closest to Bruckner in this special with a lot of new music.
Bruckner 9 Camerata RCO
Bruckner as a source of inspiration
The Belgian composer Sébastien Letocart completed Bruckner's Ninth Symphony and arranged the other parts for the sixteen musicians of Camerata RCO. His aim: to stay as close as possible to Bruckner's original notes. A grand symphony reduced to its essence.
Bruckner's Ninth Symphony is best known in its three-movement version with that heavenly Adagio as its conclusion. There are, however, incomplete sketches for a final. Sébastien Letocart completed the Ninth Symphony in 2008 based on the sketches.
He has now adapted this version and the three previous parts to chamber musical proportions for Camerata RCO. A worthy ending to Bruckner Casco with notes from the one and only Anton Bruckner.
