Concerts Littraires: The Soul's Domain
In the opening concert of the series 'Concerts littéraires' you will hear music by Frédéric Chopin and literature by George Sand. Between 1837 and 1847, Chopin and Sand had a relationship at Nohant, George Sand's estate in the Berry region. Sand had set up a room on the first floor for Chopin, so that he could compose in peace. He wrote more than half of his pieces there. The collaboration between the composer and the writer was almost perfect: 'My fingers move softly over the keys, while her pen moves quickly over the paper. She can write while listening to the music.'
