Craig Taborn / Peter Evans
A new duo with familiar names: both pianist Craig Taborn and trumpet player Peter Evans are welcome guests on the Bumhuis stage with their various projects. Through improvisation they discover new forms time and again that make you listen differently. Sometimes there are similarities with jazz or classical music and sometimes they take a radically different direction. Craig Taborn and Peter Evans previously played together at Bimhuis in Rocket Science with Evan Parker and Sam Pluta.

New York
Craig Taborn is hailed as a 'visionary of the current jazz generation' (Downbeat) for his intriguing, concentrated playing in which he is able to dissect the tones and overtones of the piano down to the smallest detail. Peter Evans draws inspiration for his layered improvisations from seemingly very different genres, from pre-war jazz to abstract electronic music. Both players have been active in the musical avant-garde of New York for many years.
