The fact that Daniel Müller-Schott received private lessons from Mstislav Rostropovich and made his debut in 2000 with Anne-Sophie von Mutter indicates that he has been in the highest regions of classical music for almost a quarter of a century. Schumann's Cello Concerto

Müller-Schott is the soloist in Schumann's super-romantic Cello Concerto , arranged for chamber orchestra. With its sudden changes between lyrical passages and fiercely tense venom, it is one of the very best romantic cello concertos. Schumann composed it in just six days, a unique achievement. Also unique is the duet between the cello soloist and the first cellist of the orchestra, in which many hear a love duet between Robert Schumann and his wife Clara. Clara Schumann was therefore very charmed by the piece: 'This concerto is romantic, fresh and has humorous features'. The Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra will also play the Holberg Suite , with which Grieg succeeded in mixing his own, recognizable romantic Norwegian style with a fresh neo-classicism.
